8th Annual Veteran’s Day Luncheon
WHEN: Sunday, November 5, Noon – 3 PM

WHO: We invite all active and retired military personnel and their families to our 8th Annual Luncheon.
WHAT: A free lunch to honor the men and women of our Nation’s Armed Forces, past and present, along with their families. Please join us for lunch, a guest speaker, recognition of our Veterans and Active Military Personnel, special music, and much more. New attendees can also register to be in our Veterans of Palmyra Commemorative Book.

The luncheon features a free meal, gifts to and recognition of all current military personnel and veterans, a slide show, presentation and retirement of the colors, and flag folding.
Guest Speaker: Major General Eric G. Weller (Ret)
Major General (Ret) Eric G. Weller was appointed Deputy Adjutant General for Veterans Affairs on November 21, 2016. He supervises the administration of state Veterans programs, outreach and reintegration and Veteran Initiatives for nearly one million Veterans and their dependents. Major General (Ret) Weller also oversees the operation of the Commonwealth’s six state Veterans’ homes.
Major General Weller retired in August 2016 after over 35 years of military service. Prior to retirement, he served as the Deputy for Mobilization and Reserve Affairs, United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. He was responsible for the formulation of policies, plans, programs, regulations and other initiatives to ensure the Reserve Component Special Operations Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) were considered and integrated when required to support Major Regional Conflicts and other Special Operations. Major General Weller also assisted the Commanding General, USSOCOM, in ensuring preparedness of Reserve Component Special Operations Forces units from all services for wartime mobilization and peacetime deployments in support of the various Theatre Commanding Generals.
Major General Weller enlisted in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard in 1981 and was commissioned the same year at the Academy of Military Science. He was an Instructor and Evaluator while achieving the rating of ‘Master Navigator’ with over 3000 Flight Hours in the C-130 aircraft including 150 Combat Hours.
Major General Weller’s career includes participation in numerous classified missions during operations in Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. He has also commanded Air Force units at the Squadron, Group and Wing level.
